Accommodation: Jungle Lore Birding LodgeIn the morning, arrive at Kathgodam Railway Station, you will be met and proceed to Pangot (52 km / 2 hrs), enjoying birding and the scenic beauty along the way.
Pangot, a quaint village known for its rich birdlife, is about 3 hours from Corbett Park at a height of 2000 m.
The drive offers scenic views of the Himalayan foothills. Stopping en route at Kilbury for birding. Evening is free to enjoy the serene atmosphere.
Upon arrival at Pangot, check into your lodge and take some time to relax amid the tranquil Himalayan surroundings. In the afternoon, set out for a gentle birding session through the nearby oak and rhododendron forests, interspersed with open meadows that provide excellent habitat for a variety of Himalayan bird species. Pangot is particularly renowned for sightings of Cheer Pheasant and Koklass Pheasant, along with an impressive diversity of woodpeckers, thrushes, flycatchers, and laughingthrushes.
The walk offers not only rewarding birding opportunities but also breathtaking views of the forested slopes and distant mountain ranges. As evening approaches, return to the lodge to unwind and exchange sightings from the day over a warm dinner. Enjoy a peaceful overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Early morning, set out for a guided bird watching walk around Pangot and its surrounding forest trails, one of the richest birding zones in the Kumaon Himalayas. As the forest comes alive with birdsong, keep an eye out for Himalayan specialties such as barbets, minivets, warblers, tits, and pheasants, making this a rewarding experience for both beginners and avid birders.
Return to the lodge after the walk and enjoy a hearty breakfast amidst serene mountain views. After breakfast, check out from the lodge and begin your scenic drive back to Kathgodam Railway Station (52 km / approx. 2 hours). En route, take in the final glimpses of pine and oak forests, terraced hillsides, and peaceful hill villages.
Arrive at Kathgodam in time for your onward journey, carrying with you wonderful memories of Himalayan landscapes and birding experiences.
